current service opportunities

If you are looking for ways to serve the Lord and the body here at Valley Church, we will post opportunities below. 

  • volunteer for valley kids - 5 years-3rd grade

    Time needed to be available: Sunday mornings during the 9:30 or 11 service; Once a month


    This volunteer must:

    --Be 18 years of age or in 6th-12th grade and volunteer with an adult

    --Arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of service (ex. arrive at 9:15 for the 9:30)

    --Pass a background check


    This volunteer will be interacting and talking to the kids, being a calm and attentive presence, and assisting the teacher. A background check will be done prior to being placed on the serving schedule.

  • volunteer for valley kids - 0-4 year olds

    Time needed to be available: Sunday mornings during the 9:30 or 11 service; Once a month on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Sundays


    This volunteer must:

    --Be 18 years of age or in 6th-12th grade and volunteer with an adult

    --Arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of service (ex. arrive at 9:15 for the 9:30)

    --Pass a background check


    This volunteer will be teamed with at least 1 other volunteer in either our Infants, 1-2 year old, or 3-4 year old room. This volunteer will provide care by playing, interacting, talking to, and watching the children.  A background check will be done prior to being placed on the serving schedule.

  • worship team - lead guitar

    Time needed to be available: Scheduled Sunday mornings during the 9:30 and 11 service and a scheduled practice the week before


    This volunteer must:

    -- Have their own guitar and pedals (preferred) 

    -- Be proficient in improvisation and skilled at playing lead lines

    -- Have the ability to confidently play on stage during worship services

    -- be committed to attending rehearsals and services regularly

    -- Be a team player with a humble attitude

    -- Become comfortable with using IEM’s ( In Ear Monitors)

    -- Possess a genuine passion for worship and a desire to help create a meaningful worship experience for our congregation



    This volunteer will be working directly with and under the leadership of Media Director and Worship Pastor.

  • scripture reader

    Time needed to be available: Sunday mornings during the 9:30 service or the 11 service


    This volunteer must:

    --Be able to read a scripture passage clearly and confidently in front of the congregation

    --Arrive to service on time so you can get a microphone and service schedule from the sound booth

  • av team member - slides and lights

    Time needed to be available: Scheduled Sunday mornings during the 9:30 and 11 service. Usually one Sunday a month.


    This volunteer must:

    -- Be familiar with presentation software and lighting equipment preferred (training will be provided)

    -- Be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple elements simultaneously

    -- Have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

    -- Be reliable and committed to attending Sunday morning services regularly


    This volunteer will:

    -- Operate presentation software (ProPresenter) to display lyrics, videos, and other multimedia elements during worship services

    -- Control lighting to create an engaging and worshipful atmosphere

    -- Work directly with and under the leadership of Media Director and Worship Pastor

  • livestream technician

    Time needed to be available: Scheduled Sunday mornings during the 9:30 and 11 service. Usually one Sunday a month.


    This volunteer must:

    -- Be proficient with livestreaming equipment and software preferred (training will be provided if necessary)

    -- Possess strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    -- Be reliable and committed to attending Sunday morning services regularly

    -- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

    -- Possess passion for leveraging technology to create meaningful worship experiences for online audiences



    This volunteer will:

    -- Set up and operate live-streaming equipment, including cameras, audio software, and streaming software (training provided)

    -- Monitor and manage the livestream feed during Sunday morning services, ensuring audio and video quality

    -- Coordinate with worship leaders and pastors to capture all elements of the service, including music, sermons, and announcements

    -- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise and provide support during live-streamed events

  • meal train team member

    This volunteer must:

    --Be willing to deliver a meal to someone's home


    This volunteer will be placed on our Meal Train team on Flocknote. They will receive a text when there is an individual or family in need of meals(ex. when mom has new baby, recent surgery, death in family). They will be sent an online sign-up with the days available to take a meal and the person/family's contact info. The volunteer does not have to take a meal at every opportunity, but will be notified when a need arises.

    Time needed to be available: Sunday mornings during the 9:30 or 11 service


    This volunteer must:

    --Be 18 years of age or volunteer with an adult

    --Arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of service (ex. arrive at 9:15 for the 9:30)

    --Be friendly and welcoming

    --Be aware of guests


    This volunteer will be one of the first faces that those walking into church on Sunday morning sees. They must have a friendly, welcoming attitude. They will be placed either: at a door to hold open and greet; at the Connect desk to greet, answer questions such as where a room is located, and give guests their gift after filling out a Connect card; at the Child Check-In desk to greet and to help check-in children before they go to their appropriate Valley Kids Room; in the sanctuary to greet, pass out bulletins, and help people find seats if needed. This volunteer will be placed on a schedule for once a month.

  • coffee team member

    Time needed to be available: Sunday mornings 8:30-11


    This volunteer must:

    --Arrive at 8:30am

    --Make sure coffee is filled throughout morning


    This volunteer will make coffee for our Sunday morning services. They will check the coffee/supplies throughout Sunday morning to make sure it is filled.

  • watch team

    Times needed to be available: Both services Sunday mornings


    This volunteer must:
    --Watch the door and hallways for one service, then sit in the sanctuary one service
    --Be at least 18 years of age
    --Be able to pass a background check
    --Be able to go up and down stairs

    --This is a non-tactical team, but you need to be able to react well in an emergency situation

    --We will have 1-2 meetings per year

    --All self-defense training is your responsibility.

    --Arrive 15 minutes before the service
    --Have a welcoming personality
    --Speak and read clearly and confidently
    --Be comfortable on stage
    --Serve once a month or less

  • check-in/out or hallway runner volunteer for valley kids

    TImes needed to be available: 9:30 and 11:00 services


    This volunteer must: 

    --Be 18 years of age or in 6th-12th grade and volunteer with an adult

    --Arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of service (ex. arrive at 9:15 for the 9:30)

    --Pass a background check


    Check in/out volunteer:

    This volunteer will:

    --Manage the Check-In/Out desk

    --Check-in families, add new families to system

    --Introduce new family to hallway runner

    --Check-out families when parent/guardian comes to pick child up

    --Sit at desk during duration of the service (will be able to watch sermon on laptop or tv)

    --Act as first point of contact for anyone arriving to our Valley Kid’s area

    --Make sure all kids and any bags have name tags before going back to their room

    --Write down any specific instructions from parent/guardian on separate label to place on child’s shirt (needs bottle, newly potty training, etc.)

    --Know through training: be comfortable with Planning Center Check-Ins program, change labels on label makers


    Hallway runner:

    This volunteer will:

    --Will take kids to appropriate room after they check-in

    --Be available to help in any of the rooms

    --Will get kids from rooms and take to parents in the Check-in area when they are being picked up
