light Proud Christian day 6

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:14-16). The gospel has redeemed us from darkness to light, yet many are hindered in the integrity of their gospel-intentionality because of lingering darkness in their lives. Of course, even believers will find themselves in darkness - we are not perfect and will always need to be doing battle against sin. But there is a difference between those who are convicted of sin and seeking a change, and those who deliberately continue to welcome sin (Psalm 19:12-13; 66:18; Hebrews 10:26). So, let’s bring the darkness of our lives to the light of Jesus so that his light can flow out of our lives unhindered into the lives of others, bringing glory to His name and adding integrity to our testimony.

Reflect: Does the story of your life match the light of the gospel? What darkness have you allowed to linger because of the pleasure you find in it? How might this be affecting your witness for Christ? Let today be your day of finally bringing that darkness to the light of Jesus through repentance and confession.
