johnsons move to bfa in germany

Andy and Jaycie, along with their three daughters--Bella, Gwyn, and Lucy--have previously lived overseas as missionaries for a total of 7 years with TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission -- team.org), which has existed since 1892.  Their first time they  moved to Europe was in 2012 as church planters in Italy and most recently (2018) as dorm parents at a Christian International boarding school in Germany, Black Forest Academy (BFA).

Since moving back to the States in 2021, they thought they were done with serving overseas as full-time missionaries, but in 2024 the Lord called them back.  Once they fully accepted this, they reapplied with TEAM (where they had previously "retired") and understood the Lord asking them to return back to BFA, the same Christian International boarding school in Germany where they previously served.

For 70 years, missionaries from all over the world have been sending their high school-aged children to Black Forest Academy (BFA) to receive a Christ-centered education, typically because there is not an adequate education option for them in the country where they are.  This then enables the missionary parents to remain serving the people and culture where they live, while their child receives their needed education within a Christ-centered community.

Currently there are six dorms at BFA serving as that Christ-centered family for these students, while they are being educated there during the school year.  Andy and Jaycie (with Lucy) will be returning to oversee a new 7th dorm that BFA is opening for the 2026-2027 school year.
